Scripture Readings

Use the scripture summaries below to choose your readings for the wedding mass or ceremony.  Non-scripture readings such as poems are not allowed during the Liturgy of the Word.

Please select either one or two readings.  If you decide to go with one reading, it must come from the NEW TESTAMENT. If you decide to use two readings, one may come from the OLD TESTAMENT and the other from the NEW TESTAMENT.  The gospel reading will be chosen by the pastor or priest presiding over your wedding.

If God is for us, who can be against us?

My friends, let love be sincere, hate what is evil, hold onto what is good.

There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit.

Love is patient, love is kind, love is not jealous...

Through faith you are all children of God.

I give thanks to my God every time I think of you...

May Jesus Christ dwell in your hearts through faith.

I urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.

Follow Jesus Christ by loving as he loved you.

I give thank to God at every remembrance of you...

And over all these put on love, that is the bond of perfection.

So it is with faith that does nothing in practice...

All of you should be of one mind, sympathetic, loving toward one another.

Those who keep God's commandments remain in God and God in them.

Let us love one another, because love is of God.

We have come to know and believe in the love that God has for us.

Salvation, glory and might belong do God.

Then I, John, saw a new heaven and a new earth...
